Creative Peninsula 2016

It is so long

since I sat

and watched the clouds

as they drift across the sky

to paint a dream

on the horizon

(Alison 2016)

This has been a year of so many firsts,

so many good memories that I want to keep in a bottle to look at again later!!

August 2016 saw me take part in my first Creative Peninsula event, even though

the festival itself has run for 15 years now. It is advertised as "Northern Ireland’s

premier celebration of Art and Craft" and I couldn't believe that I was one of these artists!

Although it features all sorts of events - Open Studios, Tours, Exhibitions, Workshops, Demonstrations and more,

I decided to take baby steps this year and only participate in the two main exhibitions. The first at Ards Arts

Centre's Georgian Gallery, which also hosted the festival's opening event and the second in the Long Gallery

at the North Down Museum. I did manage to attend several of the other events in the festival and can't wait for

the 2017 event - what a month of moments to treasure!!
