Abstract White Waves

Alison Ross Ceramics

Welcome to my ceramics studio ...

Influenced by the Japanese aesthetic of WabiSabi, I draw inspiration for my ceramic pieces from elements of the natural world and usually express my vision in muted colours. This palette absorbs light, removing visual noise and encouraging mindfulness and deep reflection since, in stripping away bright or loud colours, the eye is naturally drawn to the physical textures and details of the form. My work is all hand-built and does not seek mechanical perfection but,

rather use the process of emergence from under my hands to reference

the timelessness and gradual emergence of forms in the natural world.
